We had our official second meeting with the City of Caldwell Planning and Zoning Department this morning to go over our present site plans with P and Z, Building Inspection, Streets, Fire, and Code Enforcement. With us were Steve Harrel [CFMC Board of Administration], Tony Wilkerson [Idaho Criminal Justice Division], Mario Puentes [Wright Brothers Construction] and Derrick Boles [Game Time Int’l]. Pastor Sharon and I were there as well.

Pastor Salomon began attending many of the open forum meetings sponsored by state agencies about the growing meth and gang problems as part of their “due diligence.” In attending these meetings their path crossed with a member of the Idaho Criminal Justice Division, who took both time and interest in Pastor Salomon’s dream.

The Community Center project has received a powerful shot in the arm in the last few days as our local congregation (aka “society”—a holdover from our earlier days) voted pretty unanimously (29 votes for moving forward, 2 against) to keep walking through open doors as God directs us. If you think that this is a pretty big step for us to be undertaking, you’re right. It is. However, we serve a God of big dreams.
