Pastor Salomon began attending many of the open forum meetings sponsored by state agencies about the growing meth and gang problems as part of their “due diligence.” In attending these meetings their path crossed with a member of the Idaho Criminal Justice Division, who took both time and interest in Pastor Salomon’s dream.
On November 28, 2007 Tony Wilkerson of the ICJD contacted Pastor Salomon with the invitation: “if the church with the acreage would consider extending a long term lease on the land, I have friends who would like to build a community center.” Thus began our journey toward involvement in a unique ministry outpost.
Over the past eight months the Game Time International organization, Open Door Community Center, and the Caldwell Free Methodist Church have joined forces. Game Time and Open Door together formed a third non-profit for the project. A formal Constitution, Bylaws and operational procedures have been written. Legal advice has been sought regarding the land lease, site plan drafts drawn, and business plans considered. Many more pieces need to fall in to place, though.
God continues to open every door. We meet this week with the Caldwell City Planner, representatives from the Fire and Police departments, and local utilities. They have “blessed” our conceptual plan in the past; we are hoping they will do the same again.
Keep praying for the work that is being done—that God would make us wise and efficient.
For kingdom’s sake …
